Fans of the beloved midsize crossover SUV known as the Jeep Compass will be excited to learn that the 2022 model year has some big changes in store. The Compass has undergone a redesign that makes it stylish, modern, and ready to take on whatever you throw at it. The Compass finds itself between the Renegade and the Cherokee in terms of size, making it small enough to feel sporty and responsive, while still providing more interior space than a typical compact crossover. For the 2022 model year, it's introducing a new trim level called the Latitude LUX, as well as an updated appearance on all five trim levels of the lineup. Sport
The Sport trim level showcases some of the standard features found across the entire 2022 lineup. The standard powertrain is a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine paired with either a 9-speed automatic transmission on 4X4 models, or a 6-speed automatic transmission on 4X2 models. This powertrain produces 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, and a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. The Sport also has standard safety features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and more. Other features include LED headlights, an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Latitude
The Latitude trim level expands upon the standard features of the Sport, with additional elements like ambient LED interior lighting, automatic high beam headlights, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and LED cornering fog lights. It also has a seamless outer appearance thanks to body-color exterior accents, as well as 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, and heated Gloss Black side mirrors. The Latitude also features a keyless entry system, roof rails, and tinted windows, with available features like rain-sensing wipers, heated seats, and a hands-free power liftgate.

Latitude LUX
The Latitude LUX is the new addition to the 2022 lineup, and it's bringing some premium features that elevate the same essential design of the Latitude. For example, the Latitude LUX features heated leather seating, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen. In addition to the Uconnect 5, it also features a 7-inch full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) digital cluster display. It also has increased capability thanks to 18-inch wheels with all-season tires, standard 4-wheel drive, and the Selec-Terrain Traction Management system.

Trailhawk
The Trailhawk trim is highly athletic, and also has a unique exterior design that highlights its all-terrain abilities. It features a tapered front end allowing for a 30-degree approach angle, a sporty black and red hood decal to minimize glare, and red-painted front tow hooks. It also has 17-inch wheels, all-season performance tires, and a 1-inch factory lift providing a maximum ground clearance of 8.6 inches. With this extra height, the Trailhawk also has an impressive 19-inch water-fording capacity. Additional features include a 10.25-inch TFT display, available heated second-row seats, front skid plates, and a 360-degree camera.

Limited
Finally, the top tier in the 2022 Jeep Compass lineup is the Limited trim. At this level, you'll find luxurious features like leather interior with Burnished Copper accent stitching, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. Additional features include heated power-adjustable side mirrors, a Gloss Black roof, and 18-inch wheels. You'll also get advanced safety and security features like rain-sensing wipers, traffic-sign recognition, parallel and perpendicular parking assist, and more.
