Safety Features of the Jeep Grand Cherokee

Meanwhile, the available Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist system recognizes open parking spaces and helps enter them by prompting you to shift gears and operate the brakes and accelerator while the vehicle takes total control of steering.

Visibility is key while driving anywhere. That's why the Grand Cherokee is eligible for an array of visibility-enhancing technologies. First is the available 360-degree surround-view camera system. Using input from front, rear, and side cameras, this feature pieces together an overhead view of the Grand Cherokee and the area surrounding it. This is perfect for navigating tight parking spaces and can even be useful while off-roading. Another optional feature is the Digital Rearview Mirror. This advanced feature functions as a normal rearview mirror until the digital mirror is activated. Once activated, the center rearview mirror displays an unobstructed view of the road behind you using the feed from a rear-facing camera. This is an essential feature when the rear of your Grand Cherokee is loaded with cargo. Finally, the optional Night Vision Camera system is one of the Grand Cherokee's most advanced safety technologies. This uses a forward-facing infrared camera to detect heat signatures up to 328 feet in front of the Grand Cherokee - far beyond the headlight's reach - and displays it on the digital gauge cluster. This helps alert you to the presence of pedestrians or animals before you can even see them.
