New 2022 Jeep Compass
Jeep has revealed the completely redesigned 2022 Compass, and let us be the first to tell you; it is something special! The 2022 Jeep Compass features more modern design notes inside and out, an upgraded front fascia, and advanced technology to make it stand out in the compact SUV class. Of course, at Reedman-Toll Auto, we want all of our customers to be up-to-date on the brands we sell. So with that being said, here is a first look at the newly reimagined 2022 Jeep Compass!
What engine and drivetrain does the 2022 Compass use?
The 2022 Jeep compass uses a sturdy 2.4L I4 engine that provides drivers with 31 MPG while pushing out 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifts and even torque distribution. The standard drivetrain for the Compass is front-wheel drive, but Jeep's iconic four-wheel drive is available across the lineup. Active Drive is the four-wheel-drive system available for the 2022 Compass. Without the driver needing to push a button or pull a lever, the system automatically and seamlessly shifts into four-wheel drive when the road conditions require it and back to a two-wheel drive when four-wheel-drive is unnecessary. In addition, when the system senses the Compass is losing traction, it will automatically transfer up to 100% of the engine's available torque to the wheels with the best grip.
2022 Jeep Compass exterior design
Jeep is recognized around the world for its signature seven-slot grille, which is still used by the 2022 Compass. The front end of the next-generation Compass has been transformed, adding premium design notes. The iconic grille is emboldened by High Gloss Black accents that shift the eyes over to the narrow-pointed LED headlights. Below the top grille sits the middle grille, featuring bold High Gloss Black accents and housing newly updated fog lights. The bottom grille is much larger than previous model years to enhance engine cooling while also adding to the sophisticated modern look of the 2022 Compass. The Trailhawk sets itself apart from the rest of the lineup with a newly designed black and red antiglare hood decal. Instead of Gloss Black, the Trailhawk's grille is in Matte Black, adding a more aggressive look. The middle grille flows nicely into the Matte Black lower grille with large built-in fog lights. A new front skid plate protects the undercarriage of the Trailhawk, as does the 30-degree approach angle. Higher Compass trim levels add a hands-free liftgate, painted side flares, body-color lower trim with grey accents, a dual-pane sunroof, and more.

Once you step inside the 2022 Compass, you'll notice the meticulously crafted design, beautiful color palettes, and spaciousness. The instrument panel has been redesigned for the 2022 Compass with a standard painted or available chrome-plated accent running the length of the panel. The mid-pad is wrapped and integrates flawlessly with newly-designed slim HVAC vents. The dashboard houses a Gloss Black center stack that's home to a standard 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, the largest entry-level touchscreen in the compact SUV segment. Higher trim levels come with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen. Both are integrated with Uconnect 5 infotainment software which offers five user profiles plus a valet mode, Bluetooth connectivity for up to two devices, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Amazon Alexa with home-to-car function, and much more.
2022 Jeep Compass safety and security
More than 75 safety features are available for the 2022 Compass. The standard driver assists start with LaneSense Active Lane Management which uses audio and visual cues to warn you if drivers are drifting in their lane and will take corrective actions if they do not. Blindspot monitoring with rear-cross traffic warning keeps tabs on the Compass's blindspots and will warn drivers with audio and visual alerts when a car or pedestrian is detected. Full-speed forward collision mitigation uses cyclist and pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and advanced brake assist in helping avoid a frontal collision. Other standard driver aids include an electronic switch-activated parking brake, a backup camera, and wheel-specific tire pressure monitoring. Higher trim levels offer more standard driver aids, including front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Assist.
