Part of what makes the Ram 1500 TRX so special is the immensely powerful engine underneath the hood. The supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine gives the TRX 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 118 MPH. An eight-speed automatic transmission is paired with the engine and offers a manual mode with steering wheel paddle shifters. The shocks feature remote reservoirs to free up space for the suspension travel. Additionally, they employ a secondary piston as the shocks reach full compression to stop the truck from bottoming out. Another impressive feature is Selec-Speed. By managing throttle and braking, the Selec-Speed system allows drivers to set an off-roading speed of up to 5 MPH and focus solely on maneuvering the terrain. The TRX also uses eight selectable drive modes, Auto, Custom, Tow, Rock, Snow, Baja, Sand/Mud, and Sport, to give drivers maximum control and performance on the selected terrain. This occurs by making automatic adjustments to the transmission shift points, throttle control, steering feel, suspension stiffness, and torque distribution. The TRX's immense power is put to the ground by knobby 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires.

The Ram 1500 TRX is a Ram 1500, but it has a style all its own. Its aggressive stance comes from a wider track and an additional eight inches to the overall width.
