What does the Gladiator have for features?

With a rugged looking exterior it is no surprise that the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is one tough pickup truck. The five-foot steel bed features under-rail bed lighting, strong integrated tie-downs, and an available covered three-prong 115-volt power source. An available bed divider, tonneau cover, spray-in bed liner, and trail rail cargo management system provide further organization and durability. Underneath the bed, you'll find a full-size spare tire and mount. The mount is capable of holding up to a 35-inch tire. The other staple feature of the Gladiator is, of course, is the same open-air freedom you find in a Wrangler. The Gladiator offers buyers three roof options. The premium Sunrider soft top quiets wind noise and allows for full and partial open top positions. All models can be equipped with an optional three-piece hardtop while the Overland and Rubicon models offer an available three-piece body-color hardtop option. All hardtops feature a manual rear-sliding window, two freedom panels, and quick-release latches.

What's under the hood?

To be able to deliver best-in-class towing the 2020 Jeep Gladiator needs maximum power. Delivering all that power is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine delivering 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The V-6 engine helps the Gladiator deliver up to 7,650 pounds of towing and a best-in-class payload of 1,600 pounds. The low-range torque provided by the V-6 allows the Gladiator to excel in extreme off-road conditions. All Gladiator's that come equipped with this engine comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission while an eight-speed automatic transmission is optional. In the start of 2020, you will be able to purchase the Gladiator with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine. The EcoDisel engine is currently rated to make 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. To handle the increases torque output an eight-speed automatic engine comes standard with all EcoDiesel engines.

How capable is the Gladiator?

We don't say the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is the most capable midsize pickup truck lightly. With two advanced 4x4 systems available, the Gladiator delivers impressive off-road capabilities without compromises. The Sport and Overland models receive the Command-Trac 4x4 system standard. This system features a two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, and heavy-duty third-generation Dana 44 front and rear axles with a 3.73 rear axle ratio. The Gladiator Rubicon model comes standard with a Rock-Trac 4x4 system featuring a heavy-duty third-generation Dana 44 front and rear axles with a "4LO" ratio of 4:1. Tru-Lok locking differentials and a 4.10 front and rear axle ratio also come standard. The Rubicon furthers the Gladiator's off-road capabilities with improved total suspension travel, articulation, and an electronic sway-bar disconnect. The Rubicon has a crawl ratio of 84.2:1 with the standard six-speed manual transmission and 77.2:1 with the optional eight-speed automatic transmission. All models have an approach angle of 43.6 degrees, departure angle of 26 degrees, breakover angle of 20.3 degrees, ground clearance of 11.1 inches, up to 30-inches of water fording, skid plates, and front and rear tow hooks. Thanks to all this all versions of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator come with a Trail Rated badge.
