2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Reedman-Toll Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Jeep's Grand Cherokee line is its most-awarded SUV ever, and the 2017 iteration aims to keep that status. For 2017, the "Trailhawk" model is a wholly new addition to the Grand Cherokee lineup. It tends to stop people in their tracks with its red rear/front tow hooks, red-badging, and standard 18-inch Goodyear Adventure off-road tires, which are also Kevlar reinforced! The 2017 SRT models feature a distinctive front fascia with fog lamps, a restructured grille and get the signature leather interior Package included. The 2017 Laredo, Overland, Limited, and Trailhawk models inherit choice accoutrements from 2016's 75th Anniversary edition with an altered front fascia and a full seven-slot Jeep grille. Jeep builds on the Grand Cherokee's exterior design from last year with special LED daytime running lamps (DRL) and also with optional, bright bi-xenon headlamps. For 2017, there are four total available 4x4 systems, plus Jeep's Quadra-Lift air suspension system and the dependable 'Selec-Terrain' traction management system. Standard safety features also get tweaked for 2017, including a rearview camera and rear parking sensors on all 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee models.

Can the Grand Cherokee go off-road?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers three available 4x4 systems: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II. The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee sees a crawl ratio of 44.1:1, depending on configuration. The standard Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 beats its drum within the Grand Cherokee, getting up to 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, never mind that it can tow up to 6,200 pounds. A toast is in order for the 30 miles per gallon (highway) rating with the available 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, which also gets points for a gigantic driving range of more than 730 miles. The new Trailhawk model includes as standard Jeep's Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with rear Electronic Limited-slip Differential (ELSD), a Trailhawk-specific version of Grand Cherokee's Quadra-Lift air suspension, the Selec-Speed Control with Hill-ascent/Descent Control, a matte-finish hood decal and even protective skid-plates. The available 5.7-liter V-8 weighs in with 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, plus has a best-in-class towing capacity of 7,400 lbs. The SRT model has a 6.4-liter V-8 (with Fuel Saver Technology) that sees 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The SRT model features 8 overall drive modes:  Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, Tow, Custom, Valet, and ECO. All engines are joined with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.
