Under the Charger's Hood

Options for customizing your 2017 Dodge Charger begins with the engine. Four engines are available depending on your selected trim. In the SE and SXT, you can find a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine capable of 260 pound-feet of torque and 292 horsepower. This engine can be paired with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For the R/T and Daytona, there's a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that is good for 395 pound-feet of torque and 370 horsepower. Stepping up to the R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, or SRT 392 will get you a beefy 6.4-liter SRT HEMI V8. That engine is good for 475 pound-feet of torque and 485 horsepower. Finally, there's the SRT Hellcat, equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter SRT HEMI Hellcat V8. Capable of 650 pound-feet of torque and 707 horsepower, this engine is jaw-droppingly powerful. Each Charger comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Design of Dodge Charger

The 2017 Dodge Charger is a full-size sedan with a two-row, five-passenger configuration. Its build makes it practical for drives with the family, but under the hood, everyone knows that it can do more than most sedans would ever dream of. Stylistically, the Charger was built to be bold and menacing. There are eight trims to select from: SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat. In the base SE trim, you can expect standard 17-inch alloy wheels, a six-speaker sound system, keyless entry and ignition, Bluetooth connectivity, manual dual-zone climate control, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel wrapped in leather. One model up is the SXT which features LED foglights, automatic climate control, upgraded upholstery, an upgraded 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated mirrors, 18-inch wheels, an auto-dimming mirror, and an upgraded sound system. The R/T offers upgraded brakes, 20-inch wheels, paddle shifters, and a sporty suspension. The Daytona features unique styling derived from the R/T, an improved performance suspension, leather and simulated suede upholstery, forged alloy wheels, and many of the items included in a package called the Premium Group, which includes leather heated and ventilated seats, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring. The R/T Scat Pack upgrades the brakes again, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and high-performance suspension. The Daytona 392 combines the features of the Daytona and R/T Scat Pack, plus even better brakes. For the SRT 392, there is adaptive suspension, HID headlights, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, all-leather upholstery, and more. With the SRT Hellcat, you receive improved steering and suspension and the unique Hellcat engine.
