The ProMaster is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which generates a horsepower of 178, and 174 pounds-feet of torque. Mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, the ProMaster can easily handle any heavy lifting with a class-leading payload capacity of 1,883 pounds and a maximum cargo capacity of 132 cubic feet. Also optional is a Towing package, which gives the ProMaster City the ability to tow up to 2,000 pounds.

There is a multilink independent suspension in the ProMaster City. This, in addition to an elevated ride height, makes the ride of the ProMaster City super comfortable. With a roof height of 51.8-inches, and over 48 inches between the wheelwells, there is enough room to haul a full-size pallet, which makes it the perfect minivan for mobile workshops and delivery services.

The ProMaster City makes it easy to unload cargo with easy to use sliding side doors, and 60/40-split rear doors. For extra convenience and safety, the smaller of the two doors opens curbside, and there is also a 21.5-inch rear step-in height. Both of the ProMaster's doors default to a 90-degree opening, but both can also swing out to a full 180 degrees once the hinge latch is released. The passenger configuration also offers second-row seating, that can be folded down and tumbled forward, to created nearly 6 feet of cargo area length.

The ProMaster City will is available in a few different configurations. There is the Tradesman version for cargo specifications, and the Wagon version for carrying passengers. The Tradesman configuration is available in either base or SLT trim levels, and each are available without side panel windows, rear windows only, or both rear and side windows. The SLT trim levels are available with body-colored front and rear bumpers, available body-color side mirrors, and integrated foglamps.

The ProMaster City comes standard with a variety of safety and security features, including traction and stability control, antilock brakes, a driver knee airbag, front-seat side airbags, trailer sway control, hill-start assist, side curtain airbags, parking sensors, a rearview camera, and rollover mitigation. Also available is a Uconnect multimedia system with entertainment, navigational and safety applications.
