2014 Jeep Compass near Philadelphia

Driving the 2014 Compass

The chatter around town this is that the 2014 Jeep Compass features a six speed automatic transmission and discontinues the continuously variable transmission.  Paired with this transmission is a choice of two incline four cylinder engines:  either a 2.0 or a 2.4 four cylinder engine.  The 2.0 delivers deliver 158 horsepower, 141 pound feet of torque while the 2.4 delivers a stronger 172 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. 

Design of the 2014 Compass

The Compass is styled almost the same as 2013 except with a few different styling cues.  Jeep engineers added grille colors and textures and bezel treatments around the headlights to the exterior, and if you look very closely, the grilles on the different trim levels are not the same.  Body-color mirrors were new for 2014. An ingenious acoustic windshield helps make this the quietest Compass ever.  Now let's talk about the inside.  Standard features include an acoustic laminated front windshield, six airbags, Electronic Stability control with Roll Mitigation, ABS with brake assist, Hill-start Assist, anti-lock front disc/rear drum brakes, air conditioning and much more.  There is plenty of cargo space and it is very spacious inside.  A power sunroof and navigation are also available.
