2019 Chrysler Pacifica vs 2019 Toyota Sienna near Philadelphia, PA

Buying a minivan is a big step for any family, but the problem that arises is, which minivan should you be buying? We are here to help walk you through the minivan buying process by looking at some of the top options in the market today. The first one we're looking at is the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. This minivan includes an upscale look, high-quality materials, an easy-to-transform interior, the available features you're looking for, and great visibility. The other minivan we're checking out is the 2019 Toyota Sienna. This option gets you a refined ride quality, a powerful V6 engine, Apple CarPlay, and all-wheel drive as an option. Continue reading to find out which of these minivans you should be buying for you and your family.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Power & Handling

Chrysler has always created nothing but the best when it comes to engines. In the 2019 model year, the Pacifica comes with two different engines. The first is a gasoline 3.6-liter V6, which can create 262 pound-feet of torque and 287 horsepower. This engine works with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and depending on the model, it will get you around 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. But that isn't all! If you're looking to make your life a little more green, you'll enjoy the 3.6-liter V6 engine that is matched with dual-electric motors and a 16kWh battery. The total system horsepower is around 260. You'll even be able to travel 33 miles with just the battery alone.

Unlike the Pacifica, the Sienna offers no such hybrid engine option. You will only get a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which can pump out 263 pound-feet of torque and 296 horsepower. Paired together with this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission, which isn't the best when it comes to smooth shifting. You'll be able to choose between front-wheel drive, which is standard, and available all-wheel drive. The lack of a hybrid engine makes the Sienna falter in comparison to the Pacifica. While the Sienna does offer a powerful engine, we'd be hard-pressed to ever choose it over the Pacifica.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Features & Design

The Chrysler Pacifica doesn't only offer two engines, it also comes with six main trim levels that you can choose from! Some of the major standard features include Bluetooth, a rearview camera, an auxiliary jack, keyless entry and ignition, rear parking sensors, a 7-inch touchscreen, 17-inch steel wheels, a 60/40-split folding 3rd-row seat, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 6-speaker audio system, a height-adjustable driver's seat, blind-spot monitoring, heated mirrors, and dual-zone climate control. A higher trim to consider is Touring Plus. This trim adds automatic climate control, full keyless entry, a charge-only USB port, a power liftgate, remote engine start, fog lights, and chrome exterior trim. One of the highest trims, Touring L Plus, adds a 3rd-row USB port, a heated steering wheel, an Alpine audio system, ambient lighting, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and heated 2nd-row seats.

2019 Toyota Sienna Features & Design

Only five trims are offered with the Sienna. These five models include L, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited. Standard features include a 7-inch touchscreen, automatic headlights, Apple CarPlay, a media player interface, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 6-speaker sound system, an auxiliary audio jack, a wiper de-icer, a conversation mirror, a rearview camera, five USB ports, and Bluetooth. More features come with the SE, which adds a power liftgate, sportier exterior styling, a sport-tuned suspension, heated front seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, a larger driver information screen, and 1st- and 2nd-row leather upholstery. The highest trim is Limited Premium, which includes upgraded third-row leather, xenon headlights, a rear-seat entertainment system, automatic wipers, and a surround-view parking camera system.

Conclusions

Anyone reading can tell that the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica is the clear winner here. The Sienna just simply lacks when it comes to available engines and trim levels.
